What is Lipitor?
Lipitor, also known as atorvastatin calcium, was created to treat high-cholesterol together with diet and exercise. Lipitor belongs to a class of drugs called statins, which are usually used for the same treatment but have been known to put consumers at an increased risk of stroke, heart attack, and other complications. Statins support the liver as it removes existing cholesterol from the blood and reduces the amount of cholesterol the liver produces. It was proven to reduce the risk of heart attack by up to 36% in most patients, though it had very negative effects on roughly 2% of patients.
