Menchville High School, Every 15 Minutes Program
This year Kalfus and Nachman was honored to be a part of the Menchville
High School, Every 15 Minutes Program, which was a two-day program focusing
on high school juniors and senior, which challenges them to think about
drinking, driving, personal safety, the responsibility of making mature
decisions and the impact their decisions have on family, friends and many
others. The goal is reduce alcohol related incidents among teenagers in
Newport News and the surrounding cities.
Various agencies participated in the program Newport News Commonwealth
Attorney's Office, Riverside Regional Hospital, Peninsula Funeral
Home and Newport News Fire and Police along with the High School Staff
and Students.
The program is designed to create awareness among students at Menchville
High School that they are not invincible to death and maiming. This program
helps open the emotional doors, and it addresses a problem most teens
do not know exists. During the two day program they experience first hand
how their actions affect the lives of so many other people.
Here at Kalfus and Nachman we are dedicated to educating the community
on the effects of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and
the consequences.
