About
William (“Bill”) Nossen is an Associate in Kalfus & Nachman PC’s personal injury, pre-litigation department. Bill came to the firm after spending almost 4 years defending State Farm, GEICO, and USAA insureds in automobile accident litigation.
Bill’s legal career began in New Jersey as an Assistant Prosecutor with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Located in Newark, Bill tried over 30 criminal matters to verdict, including a successful 1st Degree Murder conviction. He then went into the private sector, where he primarily focused his practice on criminal defense, zealously advocating for his clients in felony and misdemeanor matters and ensuring that their constitutional rights were protected. He concluded his 17 years of legal practice in New Jersey as in-house counsel for the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, where he represented the interests of public-school administrators throughout the State.
In 2015, Bill gained admission to the Virginia Bar. In the summer of 2015, Bill, his wife, and two children moved to Virginia Beach to be near his wife’s family. (Happy wife, happy life). Returning to his legal roots, Bill began his Virginia legal career by prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases in Portsmouth and then Hampton. For over 25 years, Bill has zealously and ethically pursued justice for his clients and the Commonwealth’s citizenry.
When not in the Office or the courtroom, Bill can be found on the tennis court, watching his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, or at his Synagogue, Congregation Beth El in Norfolk, where he helps lead services, teaches Sunday School, and is a member of the Synagogue’s Board of Directors.
