On Friday night, emergency personnel responded to a head-on collision that occurred in Suffolk, Virginia at around 6:30PM. According to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink, the car accident happened at the intersection of Copeland Road and Manning Road.
The driver of the first vehicle - a white Ford, which overturned - was flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. While the injuries of both drivers are not considered life-threatening, no further details have been released about their condition.
Those who are lucky enough to walk away from a serious car accident with their lives may still have to contend with long-term injuries and disabilities that will affect them for many years to come. Victims of head-on collisions are at a higher risk for traumatic brain injury, which can impact everything from your career to the quality of your personal relationships. Spinal cord injury is another common consequence of these types of accidents, leading to partial or even full paralysis in many cases.
