Kalfus & Nachman Furry Friends
Each month the Portsmouth Humane Society picks a pet and we promote it. The firm also pays for all adoption fees for that pet. Check out each month's spotlighted pet!
Meet Vudu! Vudu is about 7 years old and loves to be treated like royalty. Her foster mom reports that she sleeps with her head on the bed pillow every night and fusses if she's expected to sleep anywhere else. Vudu's foster home has two other dogs and cats, and she gets along well with all of them! Vudu loves to be heard. If you don't give her enough attention, she'll howl at you like a little husky. Vudu's tongue is always hanging out of her mouth - even when she closes it!
This month's pet is Howl-o-ween, a young male shorthaired cat with lots of love to give! Howl has been with us since, you guessed it, October. He's a sweet, loving cat who started his journey here with severe skin issues. After struggling to diagnose and treat his skin problems, we found that Howl-o-ween is FIV+, which means that his immune system doesn't work as well as the immune system of other cats. Now that his skin issues have been resolved, Howl-o-ween is ready for a home of his own! He loves people and gets along with other pets.
The pet of the month is Rubble, a two-year-old male neutered American Bulldog mix! Rubble is a playful, sweet boy who loves to play fetch. Well, he loves to have you throw the ball once then refuses to give it back. Rubble is a big guy who doesn't know it, and he is recommended for an only-pet home! He is very curious and spends most of his time in the yard trying to peek into the shelter windows. Visit our website, www.portsmouthhumanesociety.org/adopt, for more information and to set up an appointment to meet him!
Lilith is a two-year-old spayed female shorthaired cat. She is sweet and chatty with gorgeous green eyes! Lilith is currently in a foster home enjoying the company of two other cats, one crazy dog and five kids. Needless to say, she knows how to go with the flow! Visit our website, www.portsmouthhumanesociety.org/adopt, for more information and to set up an appointment to meet her!
Meet Baja! Baja is about 3 years old, and he's very playful. Baja can be shy at first, but he comes out of his shell quickly if you've got a stuffed toy handy. Baja does something we've never seen before - he drinks water on command! If you're looking for inspiration to stay hydrated in the new year, Baja is the dog for you. this handsome boy would do best in a home with adults. He gets along with dogs but can be picky about his playmates! Visit our website, www.portsmouthhumanesociety.org/adopt, for more information and to set up an appointment to meet him!
Our new pet is Dobby! Dobby is a 4-year-old neutered male domestic shorthair cat. He is bright-eyed, curious, and friendly. Dobby gets along with other animals and is very talkative! Anyone interested in adopting Dobby can visit our website, www.portsmouthhumanesociety.org/adopt, for more information and to set up an appointment to meet him!
Our new pet is Chili Pepper! Chili is a sweet, senior girl with so much love to give. She gets along with other dogs, cats, and kids. Chili is playful but prefers naps over exercise. Who could blame her? Chili Pepper came to us as a stray and is about 10 years old.
Update: Chili Pepper was adopted!
Camille is sweet and playful. She loves to run and fetch almost as much as she loves to nap on the couch. Camille enjoys playing chase, so she is best suited for a home with other large dogs and older kids. Anyone interested in adopting Camille can visit our website, www.portsmouthhumanesociety.org/adopt, for more information and to set up an appointment to meet her!
Meet Miller! This handsome boy is a 1-year old neutered male German Shepherd. Miller is an energetic, bouncy dude who loves everyone he meets. Because of his high energy, we recommend him for a home with older family members. Miller would love to be an only pet, and he will definitely keep you busy! Miller came to us as a stray, so we don't know much about his past - but we do know he has a bright future ahead of him!
Update: Miller was adopted by a local military family.
