Victim Identified in Fatal Roanoke County Crash

The victim of a fatal crash the happened in mid-January on I-81 in Roanoke County has been identified.

The accident occurred when a Jeep Liberty on northbound I-81 swerved into the median after the driver lost control, then veered into oncoming traffic where the driver struck a 1999 Honda Civic in the southbound lane.

The Jeep's driver, 72-year-old Monte Maurice Zuck of Oklahoma City, was sent to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained during the crash.

Meanwhile, the Honda's driver—26-year-old Hannah Marie Hochstetler of Jackson, Missouri—died at the scene. Her passenger, Caleb Hochstetler, was also taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital for his injuries.

Mr. Zuck, the Jeep's driver, was charged with reckless driving.
